Martin Houston designed and built this mini-tugboat, JANI J, that he named for his wife, Janice Jeanette. The two of them built her over five years at their home in South Dakota, epoxying plywood onto fir frames, then covered with fiberglass cloth.

I recently launched my build of a Candu Junior mini tugboat designed by Berkeley Eastman.
The Candu Junior is 11 feet loa. This build is powered by a Honda 20 hp outboard and gets on a plane at about 18 mph. The motor is mounted in a motor well/ tunnel inboard.
I started building this Glen-L Key Largo Barrelback in 1998. Finally completed after 14 years and launched in Lake Tahoe CA!
Rich Hanenburg dedicated more than 5000 hours over 6 years to the construction of his 28' Nordcoaster called HOHUM. The hull and cabin are made from plywood, with framing in mahogany, fir, and oak; then Rich covered the entire boat with fiberglass and epoxy.

AYLA is my first attempt at boat building a 12 foot wooden rowboat engineered for an outboard (8hp Tohatsu) and was titled and registered by the Virginia Dept.
Both are loosely based off of Smith Island outboard skiffs. MARY has a traditional style transom, and SUSAN has a tumblehome style transom. Traditional style construction, Cross planked bottom. Yellow Pine.
