Rick Hooper and Ann Marie Mozdziak designed and built this rowing skiff. Constructed of luan plywood and Douglas fir, WEHDGEE is 11' long with a 5' beam. She was launched on November 7, 2000 in Boca Ciega Bay, St Pete Beach, FL.
This strip-planked Sea Island Sport Kayak was built by Paul Schriever of Fernandina Beach, Florida.
Charlie Wetherill built this 7′9″ Ruben's Nymph design (plan # 516) by Dynamite Payson and Phil Bolger from plans bought at the website, www.instantboats.com.
John Burke built this pirogue using the Zydeco 14 plans by Applegate Boatworks of Veneta, Oregon. He writes "it is 13'3" in length and 34" in beam, constructed of 9mm okoume plywood on the bottom, and 6mm for the sides, a total of two 4 x 8 sheets were needed to construct the hull.
David Smith spent two years building this Sharpie ketch OUTBOUND II, a modification of WoodenBoat plan #42. Launched on June 23, 2003, the hull, cockpit, and cabin are plywood covered in fiberglass cloth and epoxy.
Bob Linton of Rainbow Canoes designed and built this 20' x 37" asymmetrical flat-bottomed canoe with extreme tumblehome, caned seat backs, and a fan-shaped down wind sail.
Michael Goodrich has read WoodenBoat for years and always wanted to send in his own new launching. When his son and daughter-in-law were expecting their own new launching with the birth of their first child, they asked Michael if he could build a co-sleeper for them.
“Sue Seay Q” a 9′6″ Nutshell Pram Kit built by Guy Seay Jr. was launched on Aug 29th 2014. The family project enlisted son’s Michael and Eric along with wife Sue. Guy built the Nutshell in his barn in Upper Saddle River NJ. Launching took place on Barnegat Bay, NJ off of Long Beach Island.
Peter Philips summered on China Lake, Maine as a child. His cousins Sherman and Ray Kelsey owned this Jacoby Class step hydroplane (9' x 46"), which Peter has recently rebuilt. Named ME-53, she was relaunched in June 2004 after 6 years of restoration work.
