Daniel Swenson "just followed  the instructions" in "How to Build a Shellback Dinghy" by Eric Dow and found the process "very straightforward." Building NATANGA took five years, during which Daniel experienced the loss of "three close people...but the project was always there for grounding.

After reading Geoff Kerr’s article about the W17 folding/trailerable trimaran in WoodenBoat Magazine #254 I was immediately interested and went to see and sail one.

Built from plans by Eric Schade, sold thru Chesapeake Light Craft. Okoume plywood hull, Western red cedar and Northern white cedar deck. My grandson had outgrown his 8′ Duckling (also by Eric Schade) I made for his ninth birthday and chose this for his 15th birthday.

Using Phil Bolger's "Sweet Pea" design for inspiration, Allen Head designed this boat for his 9-year-old daughter, Casey. With an overall length of 9', CASEY'S BOAT is constructed from 6mm Meranti plywood. Casey did much of the painting.

Describing himself as a subscriber from day one, Bob Haig of Sarnia, Ontario, just built a Solo Carry Canoe. Hilary Russell of the Berkshire Boat Building School in Sheffield, Massachusetts designed the Solo Carry.

POINTED SHOES is a Great Auk kayak built by Dave Palmer in both Michigan and Maryland. Dave used Nick Schade's book The Strip-Built Sea Kayak by Nick Schade, and recommends it highly.

Steve and Jamie Reed of Greeley, Colorado, built this cute little rocking boat with no metal fasteners, just glue and dowels. They used teak, purple heart, poplar, pine, ash, and oak. Some tiny Reed captain should be overjoyed with their first command.

Dunwerkin is our first wooden boat. It’s a 14′ square stern kayak made of cedar. Runs like a dream. I am proud of it although I just paddle. I didn't build it. That job was left to a friend.
