Bob Philips began building this Chesapeake Light Craft 17 kayak under guidance of Bill Thomas at a WoodenBoat School class held at CLC in Maryland in May 2002. After the week-long class, Bill needed another 40 hours to finish the boat, and launched her in July 2002.

My Doug Hylan designed 13′ Beach Pea is the first wooden boat I have built from scratch. She is made from okoume ply, Douglas Fir, with utile mahogany thwarts and knees and Sitka spruce spars.
Aaron Avery built a Ken Swan Nez Perce 13 design 13'6" outboard fishing skiff in his garage. He used marine plywood and vertical grain Douglas fir. The boat is powered by a 1956 10-hp Johnson outboard.
Glenn and Judy Barnwell found this Marisol Skiff for sale on the internet. They drove up to Massachusetts from their home in Pine Mountain, Georgia, turned around and drove her all the way back to Georgia. JUDY BEE is a Marisol Skiff built by Robert B.
