Peter Oliver used a wide variety of wood in the construction his his Beach Pea, LITTLE WHIO.

A Platt Monfort design called Nimrod 12.Built from off cuts of fir from the mast of the Mystic Seaport’s Amistad schooner, a chunk of green white oak, a few shop scraps and some spare time.

Rudy Robichaud spent four years building MEADOW BIRD, a 16' modified Titmouse design. Rudy writes that Sam Rabl did the original design, and Karl Stambaugh modified it for Gary F. Clements, who has plans available at GFC Boats, 490 Hagan Rd., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Rod's daughter Emma Grace Rishel co-owns this Alpha Dory with her dad. He build it using natural crook live oak frames, planking from a Douglas-fir log in Long Beach, Mississippi. The coamings, wales, and rails are from reclaimed longleaf yellow pine.

Using John Gardner's Dory Book for instruction and inspiration, G++nter Voss built this 16-foot dory for his grandchildren to use, based on Gardner's 18-foot Light Dory. Voss modified the sheer and the top of the transom, and added a centerboard and a small lug rig.

George and Susan Ensign spent a year building RIVER FOX, Redwing 21 with great help from their friend, Bob Watts. RIVER FOX is a Chesapeake Marine design. Construction was done with plywood, glue-and-screw.

This was a kit boat that I customized using many inlays, wood tractor style seat with matching backrest. All exotic wood.

This was my first boat project and it took me 4 months to finish it. I used two types of wood: Abachi and iroko. I’ve cut 6mm thick strips and no cove & bead, every strip was beveled manually to match each other.

Martin Herbert built ZOCCOLO, an International One-Metre design, to race in regattas up and down Canada’s west coast. He launched her on January 20, 2017. She is one metre (39″) long, 16cm (6″) wide, and draws 42cm (17″).

David Satter restored this 1931 Old Town Canoe in 2002, after paying just $100 for her at a yard sale in NJ. It is an Old Town 50-lb 15 model. He replaced 10 ribs and 30 feet of planking, and replaced the canvas; then gave her a new coat of paint and varnish.
