Fred Shell of Shell Boats in St. Albans, VT designed this Swifty 14, which Mort Stant built. He painted the hull blue, the cockpit white, and varnished the deck and seats. Mort writes that it was fun to build and sails great.
Based on the lines from the freedom 15 canoe design from bear mountain boats. Glued lapstrake marine plywood, fiberglassed inside and out, Epifanes polyurethane finish. Ash trim. Custom paddles and bowline. Very stable and a real head turner at the launch.
Seventeen-year-old Manasseh Durkin built this 19' x 6'5"Sparkman and Stephens designed Lightning KELLY ANN in 2003-2004. Launched in April 2004, it is planked with cypress wood, with bronze fasteners. The deck is made of mahogany, and the spars are longleaf heart pine.
Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts, offers a one-semester "Practical Ship and Boat Design" course that "aims to get students comfortable with lines drawings by lofting a sailing model full scale," writes instructor David Bill.
John Burke built this pirogue using the Zydeco 14 plans by Applegate Boatworks of Veneta, Oregon. He writes "it is 13'3" in length and 34" in beam, constructed of 9mm okoume plywood on the bottom, and 6mm for the sides, a total of two 4 x 8 sheets were needed to construct the hull.
I build this boat in 2014.
I spend over six months for this job.
She is a -Pasara- Launch.
The hull is made of three layers of spruce-3 mm thick.
Also the west system.
For the keel and the frames I used oak.
The rest in mahogany and teak.
DULWEN is a 1957 power cruiser designed by Ed Monk and built by Philbrook’s Boat Yard in Victoria, British Columbia. She was designed and built to be 32′ long, but recently owners Jan and Shelley Nielsen of West Wind Hardwood lengthened her hull by 3 feet.

John Stoudt restored this 1934, one-of-a-kind 50/800 Marblehead pond boat, that carries sail number 97. The 50 denotes the boats length in inches. The 800 denotes its sail area in square inches.
12'10" Lapstrake skiff built by a community class under the direction of a Master Boat
