TWINKLE (yup, that’s her name) was conceived on April 15, 2017 and launched on July 30. Her home is Rocky Mount, NC. She is a Chesapeake 17 sea kayak from Chesapeake Light Craft. Made of Okoume marine plywood, epoxy, fiberglass, varnish and more than a little blood and sweat.
Rowboat #17 was developed over the course of 5 years. I had built 16 models to evaluate performance and ease of building. The main purpose was for pleasure rowing with my dogs Rowdy & Nala.
Andrew German's grandfather built him this pontoon dory when he was just 4 years old. They launched ANDREW K. in August 2002. Andrew just fits in the boat, since it is only 4 feet in long. The boat is built of glassed 1/4" mahogany plywood with frames of Douglas fir.

Jim Martin of Ashland, Oregon built this 15' 'Skerry' kit from CLC. Jim named her FROLIC and equipped her with a sprit rig. He launched FROLIC on May 13, 2003 and uses her on the mountain lakes of southern Oregon.
