Kevin Moroney of Cape Coral, Florida, was building an 18′ modified sharpie skiff when his grandson, Colin, was born in Denver, Colorado, last year.
The year 2002 was a busy year for Mitchell Skinner. He built three wooden boats. The smallest is an 8' sprit-rigged catboat SIMPLY MAGIC, that he designed for his wife to use with her dog, Magic. Since this photo was taken, a larger sail has been added.
Dennis Williams believes this 11' skiff to have built sometime in the 1950s. It was restored by Fabian and Sachs restorations. It was a sailing skiff, which Dennis had converted to a rowing skiff. He uses her in the West River at Shady Side, MD.
PERFECTO is a CLC Pocketship designed by John Harris and modified by Master Violin Maker, Scott W Hershey of Dillsburg, PA. I stretched PERFECTO by 1′ and extended the cabin and widened footwell. Building photos are on YouTube videos and are in 3 parts.
Xaadas Tluuwaay (People’s Canoe) is the result of two years of dedicated work by carver Gitijang Stormy Hamar of Kasaan, Alaska. Crafted from a single piece of western red cedar, the canoe follows the traditional style of the Haida people of the Pacific Northwest.
SPIRIT is the first wooden kayak that Rod Chelberg has built. He started with an ocean kayak kit from Newfound Woodworks in Bristol, New Hampshire. Rod used red cedar strips with accent strips of white cedar on the 44 lb. hull.

Michael Lampman built the hull of this 20' MacKenzie Boats rowing scull from Atlantic white cedar wood strips covered with epoxy. The trim is Honduras mahogany. The boat, which he named SOLITAIRE, weighs only 31 pounds. Michael uses his scull on the waters near Tallahassee, Florida.
