Aleksander Kovalenko from Kstovo, Russia (near Nijni Novgorod) built in less than one year Eider from Sam Devlin board.The boat sails now The Volga, the builder is happy. This is his first retirement project.
Restorer and owner Reed Feuster says this "Duck Boat" sneakbox of the Diamond class was built by David Beaton and Son of West Montoloking, NH approximately 40 years ago. Fleets of these white cedar boats were raced by Bay Head, Mantoloking, and Manasquan River Yacht Clubs on Barnegat Bay.

Doug Crane spent 10 years building NOKIDO, a Lyle Hess 29.9 cutter, only to be diagnosed with terminal cancer late in the process. Friends and family helped him finish the boat just in time to spend his last summer aboard.

Gene Bjerke took a course from Ted Moore at the Mariners' Museum in Newport News, VA. The course was on fine woodstrip kayak construction, and Gene was lucky enough to end up with the boat he worked on in the class. It is a Steve Killing Resolute design (16'6" x 25").
