Launchings

This 30' cedar-strip 15-person canoe (C15) had its launching and inaugural paddle on May 12th of this year.

Bob Linton of Rainbow Canoes designed and built this 20' x 37" asymmetrical flat-bottomed canoe with extreme tumblehome, caned seat backs, and a fan-shaped down wind sail.

Dylan Wallace uses this board everyday on the beaches of Nantucket. Since building this one, he and his father have finished 5 more. The board is made out of butternut wood covered with epoxy. It took 100 hours to complete. It is a David Tettledon design, with a length of 9'6".

PRISCILLA C is a small steam launch based on a Stuart Turner 5 A single cylinder engine of 2 1/4" bore and 2" stroke. It produces about 1/2 HP at 30 PSI from a water tube, wood fired boiler.

Wyn Menafee of Palmer, Alaska, and Roger Burleigh of Anchorage, Alaska, each built a Penobscot 17 from Arch Davis Designs.

Markus and Angie Puskarich of Key West. FL launched this Bolger/Payson designed 18' Clam Skiff on Dec 9, 2001. They say the design is great for fishing and exploring in the Florida Keys.

Relaunch of a 1958 Thompson Sea Skiff. This is the smallest lap strake boat made by Thompson in Peshtigo, Wisconsin. All ribs, keel, gunnel, spray rails, and decking were replaced.

Marine plywood and mahogany, using epoxy resins. Design inspired by Seaway Boat Company of Long Beach, CA.

Brian and Brenda Isaacs built this Melonseed skiff in the early 1990s. They used the information in Howard Chapelle's book "American Small Sailing Craft," extending the length by 18" to make room for their cargo of children and dogs.

Glenn and Judy Barnwell found this Marisol Skiff for sale on the internet. They drove up to Massachusetts from their home in Pine Mountain, Georgia, turned around and drove her all the way back to Georgia. JUDY BEE is a Marisol Skiff built by Robert B.
