SNAKE DOCTOR
Using just materials from his local home improvement store, Robert B. Holt built this flat-bottomed, double-ended rowing boat to his own design. He used 5/16" tongue and groove western cedar paneling for the planking, and 1x3 strips for the frames and floors.
MILES CRADLE BOAT
Miles Macedo of North Providence, Rhode Island, launched his 3′ rocker dory on Christmas Day, 2012. His grandfather, Rod Fuqua, built the boat with cedar planking and oak stem and transom.
KNUTE
Kelsey Johnson built “Knute” over the course of a year and a half. Carpenter by trade and a first time boat builder. It was made of white oak for the frames, mahogany for comings and trim, marine grade plywood for hull. This is a Glen L15 design. The mast and boom is douglas fir.

Thomas McGaffey of Dallas Texas built this Farering from Ian Oughtred’s plans for the Elfyn and with Iain’s help stretched the design from 16′ to 18′.He built ROSA from Sapele plywood and used laminated solid sapele for the ribs and keel and white oak for the rub rails, thwarts and floors.He rows
PANACHE KAYAK
Craig Bjarnason spent two years part-time building his Rob Macks Panache Kayak (18'4" x 22.5" ) The hull is knotty Western red cedar covered with 6 oz fiberglass cloth and epoxy. The trim is made from local Manitoba poplar.
Kestrel - Mini Skeeter Iceboat
The Mini Skeeter Story by John EisenlohrI’m a third generation iceboater and a second generation dirtboater. My Grandpa Bud lived on Lake Delevan Wisconsin in the 50’s. He my Grandma Jane and my Dad Bill sailed E scows in the summer. In the winter they had 3 iceboats they sailed.
FIRST TRY
FIRST TRY is constructed with yellow pine framing covered in a fiberglassed and gelcoated southern pine exterior plywood hull. The stem is ash tying into an oak keel with oak bottom rubbers. The chines, gunwale rubbers, coamings, windshield frame, etc are made of Honduran mahogany.
