The Hanze Yawl was designed some years ago during a course on lofting at the Bootbouwschool in the Netherlands.
Bert van Baar, the owner of the school was very pleased about a Swedish design he had build previously in a project on the streets of Old Amsterdam. It was a Blekinge Eka from the south of Sweden.
He changed the stem to a more vertical one and redesigned the boat to make it suitable for Epoxy and Plywood construction. A friend, Pepijn van Schaick from Manta Marine Design, digitalized the paper drawings. From then on he has build two of them in a 9-day course epoxy plywood boatbuilding.
