ALBATROS 26’ is the smallest sister of the ALBATROS family, our modern classic yachts. Far its size it cannot be defined a “blue water yacht” but it is a seaworthy boat.

Here is a fine little working type punt that feels at home in the marshlands, as well as the open bay waters.She is 14′-9″ long and was designed around a working load, with a draft of about 3″.

Speed, good looks, and comfortable seating were the designer's main criteria for this double-ended centerboard daysailer.

Construction: Cold-molded over strip-planked inner skin.

Alternative construction: Strip, carvel planked (transom stern).

Lofting is required.

Simon found an older version of this boat back in the eighties and realized that its thousand-year-old design could be copied and preserved without too much difficulty. He measured it out in ’89 and Bill Nielsen lofted it and drew up the plans in ’91.
