DragonFlyer 3.2 is a great boat for all ages to build. We built the first boat, Zip, with our four kids, then aged seven to twelve and they all had a great time and learned along the way.
‘Volare’ comes in two versions. This is the console version, the utility version is available as a separate set of plans. They’re both 15′4″ long and 5′ wide.Her length is that of two sheets of 8′ plywood and she’s built in two halves (bow end and stern end).
Designed by John C. Harris, this light but sturdy fishing and utility skiff—a “crab skiff,” as they’re known on the Chesapeake Bay—has been dubbed the “Peeler” after the Chesapeake slang for a local delicacy, soft-shell crabs.
NINFA is a medium-size kayak, easy to use also for beginners. Versatility is its main characteristic: ideal for excursions in calm waters on the sea as well as in moderately difficult rivers.
Based loosely on the Folkboat, this plywood lapstrake double-ender combines comforting rough-water ability, and good looks.
Construction: Lapstrake plywood over laminated frames.
Alternative construction: Traditional plank on frame, strip or cold-molded.
The Willow is ideal for day paddles, but has the volume and solid performance required of a true expedition kayak. Featured in a how to build article in WB #195-197, taught at the WoodenBoat School.
