A 16' Classic Plywood Runabout

“Pinocchio” was commissioned by my 7 year old son who wanted to learn paddling. He saw these kids paddling in small plastic kayaks which looked more like “bricks” or “barges” rather than boats.

Hyak is a single kayak designed for multi-day excursions and recreational racing.

A refinement of the traditional Swampscott working dory for recreational use.

Plans include nine different rigs.

Construction: Glued lapstrake plywood over sawn frames.

Alternative construction: Traditional dory construction.

No lofting required.

Round-bottomed, carvel-planked powerboat with two berths and a single 300-hp engine.

Construction: Carvel planked over steamed frames.

Alternative construction: Strip or cold-molded

Lofting is required.

ALBATROS 26’ is the smallest sister of the ALBATROS family, our modern classic yachts. Far its size it cannot be defined a “blue water yacht” but it is a seaworthy boat.

This double-ended sloop combines genuine tradition and modern performance.

Construction: Glued-lapstrake plywood over laminated frames.

Lofting is required.

Plans include 4 sheets.

The Skoota 28 is a 28 ft plywood demountable coastal cruising power catamaran for a couple. Ideal for the European canals, the PNW or the Great Loop. It will demount for transport on a flat bed lorry/truck or could even be towed by a large car but should not be considered “trailable”.
