ARAMINTA is L Francis Herreshoff’s clipper bow ketch (Design No. 89), often referred to as “Baby Ti”. Built in Maine in 1954, ARAMINTA has a LOA of 33′, beam of 8′6″, and a 5′ draft.

“Samanthe” was built in 1972 by Sam Guild of Thomaston, ME. Her present owner, First Light Boatworks, has completed extensive repairs, including a completely new deck, keel timber repairs, new floor timbers, keel bolts and garboard planks.

This boat was totally rebuilt by Old Wharf Dory Co. in 1986-87. Work done included replacing several planks , the transom, cold molded the hull on the outside with two layers of red cedar, sheathed it with epoxy and fiberglass, and coated the entire interior with 2 coats of epoxy.

This vessel was built by Naval Architect Ted Carpentier who also worked as an engineer for Hughes Aircraft and was a personal friend of Howard Huges. It was custom built for the CEO of United Airlines (in fact, the original spinnaker is in United Airlines colors).
