Cedar on white oak frames, knees, transom. Traditional construction. Complete lug rig with spruce mast, yard, boom.
Can accommodate small outboard.
40' over all, 13.5 foot beam, 4' 8" draft.
Estimated 11 ton displacement.
Hull: cypress on Southern pine.
Rub rail: Alaskan yellow cedar.
Cap rail: white oak.
Deck: southern pine okoume plywood glassed over.
Raised deck aft: hackmatack.
This vessel is a 65' custom-design, custom-build Chesapeake Bay Oyster buyboat. Choptank’s draft ranges from 5' to 5' 6".
A classic boat built by the East End Classic Boat Society in Amagansett, NY in 2014. Mahogany marine ply on oak frames. Trailer, custom cover. Great fun to sail and she loves a bit of a breeze!
