This Lawton Yacht tender was built by Michael Strong in L’Etete New Brunswick over the winter months. She is planked with 3/8 inch cedar over ash frames, and fastened with copper rivets. Guards, wales and transom are made of white ash. With two rowing stations, she is able and seaworthy.

After hours of searching through plans for a boat to build I figured the next best thing was to design my own. So working off the types of boats I liked I came up with C LEGS.Built from 6 mm ply glassed over she is strong and light.
My Kayak is a Chesapeake Light Craft “Wood Duck Hybrid.” I started the build on 11/6/14 and completedit on 12/30/14. It took approximately 185 hours to complete the kayak, including time spent on making a “Greenland Paddle” and a few mistakes that needed to be rectified!

Jason Corsini of Quiet Waters Boatworks in Riva, MD built this beautiful example of Cerny Yacht Design’s Hill 16. Using a unique strip plank method and sheathed in fiberglass, she is lightweight, dry, and seaworthy while powered with a 40 horsepower outboard.
