I began working on this Chesapeake light craft Annapolis Wherry on July 19th 2021 and launched on September 11th 2021
Jack Shenker lives between two lakes in New Jersey, so he needed to build two boats. He started by building LITTLE JOANIE, a Shellback dinghy for fishing on one of the lakes.
Fred Fisher, a retired cabinetmaker, finished this Arch Davis-design Penobscot 14 in November 2003. He planked the boat with 1/4" mahogany plywood with Spanish cedar stringers and trim. The rail cap, interior, and oars are white oak. The mast and spars are laminated Douglas fir.
Nick and I started work on the ladder frame for this, our first boat on December 20th, 2016. Her first day in the water was June 15th, 2017. We estimate 500 hours in her construction. We were coached by the video series with Geoff Kerr and published by Off Center Harbor.
ST. JACQUES construction began on Christmas Eve 2013 and finished up May 2017. The boat was built by the Lewis family in Navarre, Florida. The strakes are okume plywood, keel is white oak and the seats, gunwales and spars are cypress.

The Boy Scouts of Camp Wah Tut Ca in Northwood, New Hampshire just launched a new sailing surf dory built by Graham McKay of Lowell’s Boat Shop in Amesbury, Massachusetts. Modified from Lowell's standard surf dory design, the 27′ x 7′ ketch will also serve as a pulling boat.
