15 ft skiff designed by Phil Bolger and taken from Dynamite Payson's Instant Boats book. It was an enjoyable first boat project. I added an center rear seat and a bow seat. I launched her into San Diego Bay.
13′ Doug Hylan Beach Pea. Glued lap, okoume ply planking, black locust sheerstrake, stems and keel. Eastern white cedar thwarts and floorboards.
Rick Miller of Miller Marine Systems completed this Penobscot 14 in 2003. She is a pulling version of the Arch Davis 14' x 4'6" design, using a daggerboard. LOLLYPOP was delivered to her owner, Charles Ward of Barbados, West Indies and launched on December 25, 2003.
Dave Paquet constructed this 23'6" x 7' fantail launch using yellow cedar strip planking on the hull, and red cedar strips for the decks. This Glen-L 'Harbor master' design took Dave four winters to complete. He launched PILGRIM in May 2004.
Steve Miller launched this Swifty 12 designed by Fred Shell (www.shellboats.com) on May 27, 2001. She is 12' long with 5'3" beam. Steve named her SURPRISE and provided her with a sprit rig. He sails her on the lakes around Portland, OR.
I started this boat by buying a load of rough cut northern white cedar from a small family run sawmill in Danville Vt.
Joli Boat Philip Thiel GRIETJE launched in The Netherlands at 4th of April 2020. Recently received propulsion and steering system. Now on her first holiday.
Jaap Kraayenhof of Groningen, Holland, took seven years to build this 16′ catboat. He says he spent most of the time reading WoodenBoat magazine, and considers WB to be his boatbuilding training. The boat is built entirely of recycled wood.
NIMBUS is one of three Mighty Mac’s built by Ned McIntosh, younger brother of Bud McIntosh in 1961. Ned is well known for the dozens if not hundreds of Merry Macs he built in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Like the Merry Mac the Mighty Mac is a hard chine, plywood built boat, but more substantial.
