Launchings

MISTY is a 19'6" gentleman's runabout, designed and built by Tony Beeftink over the course of two years. Tony spent a lot of time studying classic runabouts as he was designing her, attending boat shows and reading WoodenBoat.

Doug Clough launched his Platt Monfort designed Nimrod 12 solocanoe in his hometown of Mystic, Connecticut. It is 11′6″ long and 34″ wide.

John Thomson writes "Here is FOLLY (the best boat name I've ever come up with if I do say so myself, ABSURDITY and IDIOCY were contenders). She is 16' LOA with a 4' beam, stitch-and-glue construction.

This is a copy of the XVIII century boat. She belonged to the Russian emperor Peter first. The original is now stored in the Naval Museum, in Sank-Petersburg, Russia.

Peter Baldracchi recently built this 14′ dory skiff in a class at Lowell’s Boat Shop in Amesbury, Massachusetts. There’s a storage compartment under the sternsheets and room for gear and a couple of friends. The light grey interior, varnished seats, and dark hull make for a handsome boat.

SHIRLEY is a Redfish Kayaks Spring Run. She has been something of labour of love, having been in progress for 4 plus years. She is built of Western Red Cedar, Paulownia and Hoop Pine, and comes in at about 18Kg or 40lbs.

LILAH is a 15 ft CLC Peeler Skiff designed by John C. Harris and built this past Winter from a kit. She will ply the waters of Lake Sinclair and Lake Oconee in Georgia for fishing and exploration.

Rusty Wendt of Greensboro, North Carolina recently built Shearwater Sport kayak, which he named OSPREY.
