Tom Hardison spent 7-+ years building this 24' yawl, LITTLE WOODY. The hull is from a modified Glen-L plan. He added a bowsprit, keel, and made the hull thicker, using two layers of 1/4" laminated plywood. Everything other than the hull was of the builder's design.

Irv, Murray, and Jan Herman adapted this 12' Whitehall from a 14' boat built at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in 1890, and launched in on May 6, 2001. The Howard Chapelle drawings are in the Smithsonian Institution Maritime collection, National Museum of American History, Washington, DC.

Sven Östenson of Oxelösund, Sweden, bought this ocean racing yacht for about US$700 when he found it lying derelict in a local boat yard. He writes the boat, a Lage Eklund design, has a rounded turtle-deck, which leaked and caused a great deal of rot.

Completed in five months. All West System epoxy with fiberglass over the 1/2″ plywood hull and top coated with Awlgrip and Epifanes varnish, The wood is stained white ash milled from 4/4 rough sawn stock.

LUNA is a beautiful skerry from CLC boats. I built it myself here in São Paulo Brazil. It’s probably the first of her kind to be built here.

Bob Guess launched this Lawley Madelon yacht tender on August 1, 2001. She is planked with white juniper cedar on laminated white oak ribs. Each strake is epoxied to its neighbor. The trim is mahogany.

Though he describes himself as a man with little money and no experience, Ed Mahoney decided the first boat he built would be a big one: a Didi 38 designed by Dudley Dix.

The boat is stitch and glue construction from a kit produced by Chesapeake Light Craft. The red pieces were stained prior to construction in order to highlight the “artistic” puzzle joints that designer Nick Schade uses. The build took 59 work days/134.5 hours spread over a five month period.

The Sinne 610 is an expedition rowing boat designed by Ruud Van Veelen and built by Walter Baron of Old Wharf Dory Co. This is the second boat built to these lines, and the first in North America. It is fully decked, with lots of covered storage.
