I built this kayak for my grandson, who loves to fish. So I built a fishing kayak, with retractable outriggers. The outriggers are stitch and glue, the kayak is plywood on frame.
Jim Wharton built his Handy Billy launch singlehandedly over the course of seven years in an unheated barn, so the work was confined to warm weather months. Working part-time for most of the years, he reports that much progress was made in the first spring and summer after he retired.
Launched in October of 2001, Tom Shives sails this San Francisco Bay Pelican in the waters of Puget Sound. With a length of 12', and beam of 6', WET DOG is designed by Captain William Short of Larkspur, CA. Tom is seen here at the tiller with his crewman, Skip Kratzer.
Tom Wignall of Lakeville, MN is seen here sailing his new Arch Davis Sand Dollar design BAY DAWG on Pelican Lake in Breezy Point, MN. BAY DAWG, launched in June 2002, is 11'6" with a 42" beam. He constructed her with mahogany planking on oak and cedar frames, covered with System 3 epoxy.

Hagoth is an epoxy-glued stitch and glue Annapolis Wherry Tandem by Chesapeake Light Craft. Jared launched the boat on 9/19/12 at Utah Lake. This picture was taken on 3/29/13. The boat was built during a week long class in April of 2012 and finished over the span of 5 months.
This is a PT Watercraft PT 11 I built from their fantastic kit. I completed it in Fall ’21. It is painted inside and out with Perfection two-part urethane to protect it from the Florida sun and keep it cool. I left a small stripe of clear around the interior to show what it is really made of.
An 18′ Lug rigged yawl build which took nearly 1500 hours over 4 1/2 years. The hull is strip planked with Western Red Cedar. Structural parts and interior furniture are Philippine Mahogany. Spars are Sitka Spruce.
This was a kit boat that I customized using many inlays, wood tractor style seat with matching backrest. All exotic wood.
10’ rowboat with aluminum trailer. Full cover and oars.
