John Laudano Jr. of Middletown, Connecticut, designed and built this 61″ model runabout, with some help from his dad, over the winter of 2014–2015. SAUNDRA MAE has sapele planking on plywood frames. John made the windscreen, steering wheel, and fittings from scrap aluminum.
This is Chesapeake Light Craft’s tandem wherry rigged as a single. I started working on it the spring of 2015, continued through that summer and then hit the pause button when work was interrupted by life (hernia surgery) and cold temperatures. I finished up the wherry this summer.

Warren Price spent six months building a Nutshell Pram. He wants this Joel White–design as a tender for him 18′ Lyman Islander which was named THE QUEEN when he bought her. Naturally, the pram will be THE LADY IN WAITING. Warren launched her in June 2011 on the Cross River in Boothbay. Maine.
NEREUS was built in 2006 by Harry Bryan Boatbuilding in Canada and designed by John Alden.This 2006 21′ Alden Sloop was sitting on the hard at The Landing School for 10 years after being donated.
Through connections within The Traditional Small Craft Association, I received word that there was a dory built by John Gardner, looking for a new home just north of my home on the West Coast of Florida.
The plans are a Platt Monfort Classic 12′ that I stretched out to 13′. I beefed up the backbone a bit from the mast step to aft of the daggerboard trunk anticipating its sailing life. The lug sail, spars, daggerboard and kick-up rudder came from CLC BOATS as a kit for their Passagemaker Pram.
ST. JACQUES construction began on Christmas Eve 2013 and finished up May 2017. The boat was built by the Lewis family in Navarre, Florida. The strakes are okume plywood, keel is white oak and the seats, gunwales and spars are cypress.
