Charlie Wetherill built this 7′9″ Ruben's Nymph design (plan # 516) by Dynamite Payson and Phil Bolger from plans bought at the website, www.instantboats.com.

Bob Guess launched this Lawley Madelon yacht tender on August 1, 2001. She is planked with white juniper cedar on laminated white oak ribs. Each strake is epoxied to its neighbor. The trim is mahogany.

15′6″ Cottage cruiser. Local red cedar, cherry and white oak. Hand woven cane seats.

MARGALO is the name of a 9′6″ Nutshell pram built by Bill Denny of Washington State, for his son, Will, and daughter, Lindsay. Will and Lindsey chose MARGALO after Stuart Little's dear friend in the book of that name by E.B. White.

George Eckley, and his sons Andrew and Aaron, wanted to kayak fishing, but found the typical 34" cockpit too small to work with their poles and tackle boxes. So they built their own kayaks. First they built ORIGINAL OAK, which is 14'6' long, with a 29' beam, and a 64" cockpit.

John Zimmerlee created the VERSATILE CAT as a stable personal craft for fishing, birdwatching, or even paintball contests. She is very stable, being constructed of polystyrene foam glued to plywood. VERSATILE CAT has a 7' length and 5' beam, with two trolling motors for propulsion.

Classic 17′ Whitehall pulling boat. Her lines are based on boat nearly 150 years old. Glued lapstrake, planking made of Vendia Marine Plank. She has two Alden Drop in Row Wings and three places for those. So she can be rowed as a double or a single.

Thanks for the inspiration your magazine has given me to undertake a boat build. I started subscribing one month after your “Getting Started In Boats” section launched, and I have been a faithful reader of every issue since.

The deck of this CLC kayak is made of strip-planked Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Western Red Cedar and Nogal Peruvian Walnut - and the hull is made of stitch & glued 4mm Okoume plywood.

First time build, and looking forward to the next one!
