Our Deben Class designs are inspired by the original Deben 4-tonner, which my father commissioned from W. M. Blake in 1936 and the Deben 6-tonner, designed by my father in 1950. At least 35 of the 4-tonners and 3 of the 6-tonners were built between 1937 and 1960.

Developed by Chesapeake Light Craft, LLC, with designer Eric Schade, the 14′6″ Shearwater Sectional is a performance-oriented kayak that successfully bridges the gap between high performance, comfort, and stability.

Our pre-cut kits are cut by computer-guided routers to provide you with extremely accurate parts. And, the kits come with just about everything needed except the elbow grease. The ladder frame—the “foundation” of the boat—is now included with the kit.

A quickly, easily and inexpensively built solo canoe, that can be built by one person with hand tools in three days. Complete plans and step-by-step instructions. A great family boatbuilding project.
