ELLEN C WELLS is a compact fishing schooner built of 1½″ mahogany strips over white oak. Split cabin with fir decks, fir spars, and white pine house sides with plywood and Dynel cabin tops. Interior is traditional Herreshoff-type of finish with white paneling and natural mahogany accents.

Based on Tom Gillmer and Iver Franzen’s New Moon (an enlargement on Gillmer’s Blue Moon), this sailing vessel is intended to be a stout, seaworthy, offshore-capable passagemaker, with an emphasis on the balance between comfortable sea-keeping and good sailing abilities.

1942 Halvorsen Cruiser. Purchased in Sydney, trucked to Hobart and spent 2.5 years out of the water, undercover rebuilding. Cabin sides and windscreen had been damaged by rot. Double diagonal oregan planking on the hull which when stripped back was in excellent condition.

This canoe is based on the Laughing Loon Wee Vera plans for a 10ft canoe. I stretched the plans out to 12ft. It is a cedar strip design.

40′ on deck and 49′ with bow sprit, S.Y. RAVENSONG was built by Denis Brown in Ventura California and launched in 1934. Her hull is 38mm thick, single stripped plank construction of Californian Red Cedar from the giant redwood forests. Mast and spars are Canadian Oregon and Canadian Spruce.
