Wood Duck 12 - Built at the WoodenBoat School in August, 2018 and completed in September 2018.

Manasek was traditional construction - in old times used by Scouts in Czech republic. It was easy to build — just from three wide boards. It was paddled by double blade paddle.

After 37 years as a superintendent and general superintendent at Howard S. Wright Construction, a Balfour Beatty company in Seattle, Washington, my retirement gift from my peers and the company was a complete Annapolis Wherry kit from Chesapeake Light Craft.

The boat was finished, and was trailered over to a boat shop for the installation of a 15 hp Tohatsu outboard, on February 2. I am a first time boat builder and found that building the CLC kit was a fun fall/winter project. The boat will be on Lake Couer d’ Alene the next sunny weekend.

Chris Bell lives on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia, where he enjoys sailing in MINNIE THE MOOCHER, a 14′11″ canoe yawl. MINNIE is a Lillie design by Paul Fisher that is similar to his Ethel canoe yawl design and to boats that Lord Robert Baden-Powell built for the Boy Scouts.

TUBBY TUG (9' LOA) was launched in August 2001 on the St. John River in Belleisle Bay, New Brunswick. Glen-L Boats of Bellflower, CA designed her, and Tom Wetzel of Grand Manan built her using the stitch-and-glue method. TUBBY TUG is owned by 5-year-old Dylan MacKenzie of Hampton, New Brunswick.

Robert Donahue started this CLC 17 kayak in October 2001 at a WoodenBoat School class held at the Maritime Museum of Newport News, VA. He finished in July 2002 and launched in Echo Lake, Acadia National Park, in Maine. Robert is eagerly looking forward to another WoodenBoat course.

William Bliss, his wife, and five children made the construction of this boat a family project. It took 6 years from 1998 to 2004. SGT. MULVANEY is a 10' Classic Dinghy designed by John Clark of Compumarine in Rio Rico, AZ. The dinghy is strip-planked with western red cedar.

Bob Elliott led a group of seven students in building this Merrimack Skiff at Lowell's Boat Shop in Amesbury, Massachusetts in 2001. With agathis planking over sawn oak frames, this boat is just over 13 feet long with a beam of two-and-a-half feet.

Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts, offers a one-semester "Practical Ship and Boat Design" course that "aims to get students comfortable with lines drawings by lofting a sailing model full scale," writes instructor David Bill.
