Wolfram Kunkel built this sloop from his own design in 2018. He used wood left over from the construction of the Geltendorf Bridge in Bavaria.

Anita Repp has a new 15' skiff, PENELOPE, built by her husband Doug, for fishing and picnicking. Doug made PENELOPE with plywood planking on pine frames, and he use fir for the keel and chines. The hull is covered in epoxy and fiberglass cloth.

LAURIE-ANN, a 20' cat-ketch is shown here at her launching in June 2002 on St. John's River in Palatka, FL. Pat Kelly built her from a Graham Byrnes design. He used stictch and glue construction on okoume plywood. Her shallow draft, only 8" with the board up, makes her fun and fast.

This is a flat-bottomed 16-foot fishing boat called a gandelow (see WB 249 and 250) used in the Shannon river estuary of western Ireland.

Bill Bornemann writes that he "built this 9' long, 4' beam, plywood skiff inspired by Howard Chapelle's description of the flat iron skiffs in his book, Small American Sailing Craft. She was assembled and painted in one day as part of his 50th birthday celebration.

Jim Brossett has been busy. He launched two boats that he built in June 2011. He built this 14′ strip canoe from cypress with cherry accents.

Tim Allen built this 7' pram from a design by Glen-L Boats of Bellflower, CA. Named CROW'S NEST, he intended her as a sailing pram using leeboards. He found that it only sails downwind and capsizes easily, so Tim bought a 2hp Honda motor to replace the sailing rig.

The Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding in Port Hadlock launched on June 14, three classic Whitehalls built for the British Broadcasting Corporation. The BBC used the boats in August 2013 to recreate John Wesley Powell’s 1869 exploration of the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.

A Platt Monfort design called Nimrod 12.Built from off cuts of fir from the mast of the Mystic Seaport’s Amistad schooner, a chunk of green white oak, a few shop scraps and some spare time.

Cedar strips canoe of the Gil Gilpatrick 16′ Laker design. Modifications to the design includes ash stem guards and scuppered inner gunwals. Hull materials include Western Red Cedar, Eastern White Cedar, and Alaskan Pine accent strips. Stems, gunwals, seats and yoke are ash.
