Launchings

Over 40 years ago, boatbuilder Ray Speck drew the lines for the Sid skiff. He was living in Sausalito, California, at the time and admired JAYNE, a skiff owned by the harbormaster, Sid Foster.

A CLC Mill Creek 16. Will be used for fishing and bird watching on the inland lakes and streams in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Wayne Brown spent two years building this 12′6″ catboat designed by William Garden. DON GATO is a strip-planked Tom Cat design launched at Ghost Lake, Wisconsin last July. Wayne says she sails nicely with three people aboard, trails beautifully, and takes about an hour to rig and unrig.

This Swedish 15 square meter class yacht VIXEN was built in 1938 by Kungsfor Boatyard in Stockholm, Sweden. About 49' long, it was wrecked in 1988 on the Firth of Clyde in Scotland, before being rescued by James McIlraith of Renfrew, Scotland.

The Pride of Buffalo, designed and built by Michael R Weekes is a 16′ long, 10′ wide, 9′ high geodesic houseboat inspired by R Buckminster Fuller. It was launched at Canalside on the Buffalo waterfront at the Western Terminus of the Erie Canal on Thursday, July 25th.

Designed by Bob Perry and built by the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding in Port Hadlock, WA, the FRANCIS LEE is a 62 foot double ended fractional sloop built of West System sheathed strip planked Western Red Cedar has successfully undergone sea trials and is now happily moored in Blakely H

Ron Rosene bought this boat in the summer of 2002 and restored it over the winter. EL RAY BARQUERO. is a 21' x 7' Skillcraft Day Cruiser made by Henry Boats in Plain City, Ohio in 1968. Zimmerman Boat Works in Columbus Ohio restored all the surfaces.

Roy Terwilliger acquired Snipe Class #3258 in 1972 and has spent several years restoring it. The boat was originally built in 1937 by Roger Gintling of Sparrows Point, Maryland, for a cost of $165.
