Cajun Pirogue
Uncle John’s General Store, (www.unclejohns.com), offers easy-to-build Cajun Pirogue kits. Peter Mallory of Amelia Island, Florida, built one of these kits making a 15′6″ model with a 31″ beam.

My first boat and first build
"If you want something nice, build it yourself." I've wanted a boat most of my life but was never in a position to afford or transport one. But, last summer I decided I couldn't wait any longer and attempted building my first boat.
BONNY
David Stevens, a Nova Scotia boat builder, took the lines for the schooner BONNY (30'LOA, 8'beam) from a derelict boat in saw in a field on Bush Island. He built her as a work boat for his own use in his declining years.
HONEYPIE II
The eight coats of varnish Jeffrey Fette applied to HONEYPIE II don't seem enough to protect this beautiful strip-built kayak designed by Ted Moores. Jeffrey used alternating strips of ash and merantion the sides and layered ash on the cockpit coamings.
B45 Kia Kaha
The Borealis 45 “Kia Kaha” is a light weight performance cruising yacht, intended for anything from leisurely coastal sailing, to long distance ocean passages.
Manasek
Manasek was traditional construction - in old times used by Scouts in Czech republic. It was easy to build — just from three wide boards. It was paddled by double blade paddle.
14 foot Quahog skiff
Joe Walsh of RI has been working on a writen history of a passing tridition. The Quahog skiff was a staple of the waterfront in Rhode Island for many years. Of late they are hard to find.

REDBIRD CANOE
Robert Johnston gave this 17' Redbird canoe that he built to his brother, James Johnston, for James' 50th birthday. Robert used bead-and-cove cedar strips for the hull, then covered them with two coats of epoxy.
