Launchings

Bob Guess launched this Lawley Madelon yacht tender on August 1, 2001. She is planked with white juniper cedar on laminated white oak ribs. Each strake is epoxied to its neighbor. The trim is mahogany.

Mill Creek 16.5 decked canoe, built from plans from Chesapeake Light Craft. Construction time was about 200 hours over the course of 5 years. Canoe is perfect for Dad in back seat and two kids, ages 3 and 5) in the front.

This boat was designed and built by Robert Wallace between October 2001 and May 2002. He launched her in May on White Oak Pond in northeastern Pennsylvania. The skiff has a 10' LOA and maximum beam of 39". She is a semi-V hull.

After forty years of building skiffs and dories, first, under the tutelage of the old timer, Fred Tarbox, at Lowell’s Boat Shop and later as Parker River Boat Works, this will be my first published launching.

Wayne Kaler built this 11′6″ Car Topper skiff designed by Phil Bolger, in an airplane hangar in Oakland, California. Fittingly, he called it FLYING ZUCCHINI.  He enjoyed sailing and rowing the boat on San Francisco Bay.

MARILYN D has a 26' hull of intact cold-molded spruce. She was originally called IMPULSE and owned by Cabot Lyman, who used it as a commuter boat for 10 years, and was the original 'Jet' boat out of Lyman Morse. Mike Perlis and Lyman Morse restored her over the winter of 2001-2002.

After he moved toBangladesh with his wife and infant son, Henry Richards of Belmont, Massachusetts, had some free time on his hands. He began perusing WoodenBoat in hopes of finding a boat that was fast and on the easier side to build.

Randall Kleeman led a class of 12 students at the Anglo-American School of Moscow, Russia, in the construction of PETER THE GREAT, an Iain Oughtred Whilly boat design. The boat carries 80 sq ft of sail and weighs about 140 lbs.
