In the spring of 2013, I started to write a book called, How to Design a Boat using SketchUp 3D Software. The subject matter was my design, ‘Kalostyn’.

The first in the series of Hawks.The Sea Hawk, an excellent choice for the weekend warrior in all of us. Ideal for day paddles with the carrying capacity for overnight journeys.Good initial stability with exceptional secondary stability.

This double-ended sloop combines genuine tradition and modern performance.

Construction: Glued-lapstrake plywood over laminated frames.

Lofting is required.

Plans include 4 sheets.

Kiska is a wood strip/epoxy single kayak. Based on Greenland kayak lines, this low volume kayak is playful but tracks well

“Pinocchio” was commissioned by my 7 year old son who wanted to learn paddling. He saw these kids paddling in small plastic kayaks which looked more like “bricks” or “barges” rather than boats.

Silver Thread is a replica of a Cornish lug and mizzen used in the inshore fishing and as tender to larger vessels within harbors. The original boat, Summer Haze, was built in Padstow around 1908.
