Ashitenma
This 20′ Ashitenma boat was built from the lines of a 1950s net-fishing boat from the Inland Sea region of Japan. Douglas Brooks and his apprentice Takumi Suzuki, with assistance from Koji Matano, built her from cedar and cypress in Takamatsu, Japan.
INTREPID
I recently finished restoring a 1960’s Comet sailboat. She needed a new deck and a good paint scraping. Many thanks to WoodenBoat School for instilling the confidence to take on such a project.
The Comet is a hard-chine boat with a low freeboard and centerboard. See WB 31.
SOLATE
Kyle Abingdon and Maris Skabardis recently restored SOLATE, a 1954 Scarborough sloop designed by John Ley. The team worked part-time on this boat for about two years.
CEPHEID
Tom Diehl launched CEPHEID on August 29, 2001 on Shabonna Lake in central Illinois. CEPHEID is an Arch Davis Sand Dollar design, 12' long. Tom built her of Okoume plywood, ash, oak, and mahogany, finished with epoxy. The spars are Sitka spruce.

LEMONADE
I was having difficulty getting out of my SOT kayak and needed a small skiff to row around the lake near my house. I wanted something I could put in the back of my S10 pickup, so I chose the Hannu 10 1/2 foot skiff.
"It'll Do"
On Saturday August 12, 2017 at Green Lake in Dedham, Maine I launched, with my daughter Jackie and her husband Ryan Francini my Jericho Bay Lobster Skiff that I named “It’ll Do”. I purchased the plans from WoodenBoat Magazine and began construction in February.
AZURE
Jonathan White of Victoria, Australia built this Acorn dinghy in just five months. It is made of 6mm marine plywood and hoop pine with five coasts of varnish all around, and another five coats inside for good measure.
Skiff Coffee Table
After forty years of building skiffs and dories, first, under the tutelage of the old timer, Fred Tarbox, at Lowell’s Boat Shop and later as Parker River Boat Works, this will be my first published launching.
