“Talisa” is a Creek Indian word meaning “beautiful waters”. Designed specifically for shallow protected waterways, Talisa has been perfect for exploring the waters and backwaters of the St John’s River and springs of Central Florida.
The Salt Bay Skiff was the grand prize winner of the Family Boatbuilding Design Contest held by WoodenBoat in 2007. Carl Sylvester built KALOS from "Getting Started in Wooden Boats," the supplement in issues 199 and 200, over the course of ten months.

James McGorry of Aurora, Colorado, built this 17′ LOA kayak relying on information from Nick Schade’s two articles on building the 10′ Nymph kayak that appeared in WB 199 and 200. He made the hull and outer rail from basswood, and the stems, seat, backrest, and inner rail from mahogany.
Emma Grace is 8 years old. She and I built the 16-foot Chestnut Prospector in the Spring using plans from Sandy Point Boatworks. We have been enjoying it all Summer long along Florida’s Canoe Trail. This Winter we are planning to build a Glen-L 14 sailboat.

Bob Case built this Arctic Tern kayak from a Pygmy Boats kit. It is 14' long with a 23" beam. He added a little artwork on the foredeck, an Inuit representation of an Arctic tern, with red eyes on a white background. He writes that the boat was a joy to build and a joy to paddle.
Doyle Herman started restoration of this 15' Wagemaker in September of 2001. He launched it in May 2002. He stripped the boat to a bare hull, replaced the deck plywood and part of the transom. Wolverine Boats of Grand Rapids, MI built the boat in 1957.
