I designed and built the cradle boat Li’l Longship for my soon-to-be-launched grandson. With her bold, sweeping hull lines and imposing figureheads I’ve tried to capture the spirit of the classic Viking Longship.

My Boat is patterned after the boat I saw in the Ogeechee river as a kid, these boats were built by various builder in south Georgia half a century ago, they were unique in their design and performance, built back before outboard motors were common these boat were built to paddle in the small riv
Bella is a Duck Trap Wherry built for our family outings and she was named after my daughter's nickname. The construction method is glued lapstrake and I used 6mm Cedar plywood for the planking and Cedar on the brightwork.

This is a PT Watercraft PT 11 I built from their fantastic kit. I completed it in Fall ’21. It is painted inside and out with Perfection two-part urethane to protect it from the Florida sun and keep it cool. I left a small stripe of clear around the interior to show what it is really made of.

Ned Handy uses a 20-hp motor to push his Long Point Skiff, designed by Tom Hill of Burlington, Vermont, along the coastal waters of Massachusetts. Ned used okoume plywood, mahogany, and white pine to construct her, spending nearly 300 hours of his time on the build.
Gorden Schweers had taken a two-week course on building a dory from the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding in Port Townsend, WA before building this modified faering with his son Guthrie.
Since Geoff Shallard spent two years living in the basement with his Henley 18, his wife named the new boat SILENT MISTRESS. Geoff used balsa composite panels in the stitch-and-glue construction. She is powered by an electric outboard motor.
