A Classic Gulf Stream fishing boat designed to be lightweight, and to take a following sea better than it’s Dory predecessors. The hull lines were from plans*, with some modifications to the interior. A laminated tow-rail and, fold-down seating in the cockpit among them.
CHIME (it’s a little dinghy) is a Chesapeake Light Craft Passagemaker Dinghy. The kit was a family gift, and building help came from all of our children and kids, and Captain Hook (our dog, who endured many hours on the garage floor watching epoxy dry).
The boat is an Alden Indian rigged with it’s original gaff sail plan.
Julian Swindell found the plans for this Portuguese-style dinghy, NELLIE GRACE designed by Hannu Vartiala of Finland, who has these plans available for free at his website, koti.kapsi.fi/hvartial.
Bob Elliott led seven students in the construction of this Merrimack Skiff built at Lowell's Boat Shop, Amesbury, Massachusetts during the winter of 2001. with a length of 13'3" and a beam of 2'6", the skiff is built of agathis planks riveted over sawn oak frames.
