Eric Blumhagen writes "I built SOLACE with the able assistance of my wife, my idea woman. After a year and a half of work, I launched it on November 12, 2000. It now hangs from our living room ceiling when not being used on Washington lakes.
John Hudson modified this Wee Lassie canoe designed by Mac McCarthy by adding decking fore and aft. He used cedar strip planking over Douglas fir stems, then added fiberglass cloth and epoxy. The paddle is made from aspen and cedar.
Twelve years ago, Bill Burns and his sons rescued an old cedar skiff that was being used as a lawn ornament in Oriental, North Carolina. The started restoring the 16′ skiff by replacing some rotted areas, including most of the transom.

Stephen Carpenter of Presumpscot Woodworks in Gorham, ME restored this "Bangor Pool Boat" in the winter of 2001. It is 13' long with a 52" beam. He does not know its age or place of origin, though he has some indication that it was built somewhere in Penobscot Valley.
