Andy Stephenson just built this 14′ Cosine Wherry, designed by John Hartsock, and launched it in Hancock Maine on May 24, 2012. He plans to use it to ferry friends and family to his 210 moored near his home.

William Leake likes the look of strip-built canoes but his wife prefers the look of lapstrake canoes. He thought a hybrid model—strip-planked on the bottom half and lapstrake above that—might be the solution to both of them getting what they want.

In August 2023, David O’Halloran of Sparta, NJ and Manhattan, NY, launched the Meli-Ha-Ha, a Francois Vivier deigned Morbic 11, on Lake Mohawk. Measuring 11′ LOA with a 5′ beam, this traditional French sail and oar dingy was built with a Clint Chase kit in my garage using the strip plank method.

LEGACY is a 1956 Thompson Sea Coaster that Bob Cristina of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina recently gave to his son Ed Cristina of Ashton, Ontario. Ed did a few repairs and gave LEGACY a whole new finish before re-launching her in August 2011.
Michael Lampman built the hull of this 20' MacKenzie Boats rowing scull from Atlantic white cedar wood strips covered with epoxy. The trim is Honduras mahogany. The boat, which he named SOLITAIRE, weighs only 31 pounds. Michael uses his scull on the waters near Tallahassee, Florida.
