MIMSY
Jim Force writes that it took him three years to finish the 12' semi-dory he won in the draw at John Karbott's WoodenBoat class in 1999. The lapstrake planking is mahogany marine plywood (okoume bottom and transom are pine; stem and frames are oak.
ABENAKI CANOE
Herb Friese built this 16' x 35" cedar strip canoe, Abenaki model, from plans and materials supplied by Newfound Woodworks, Bristol, NH. Herb said it took about eight months of part-time work in his garage. The canoe will be used in the waters around Catskill, NY, by owner Kathleen Farrell.
ELLIE BELLE
In early August 2004, the 18'6" White Guide Canoe first touched water on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH where her owner, Matt LaMarche, spends his summer weekends. ELLIE BELLE took 4 months to build, being strip-built of cedar, ash, maple, cherry, and rosewood, cover with cloth and epoxy.
LITEN TUT
Robert Ellis calls this Glen-L 'Bojest' design LITEN TUT, which is Norwegian for Little Toot. It is 17'10" long with a beam just under 8 feet. Power comes from a Yanmar 1GMIO, 9.1-hp motor, which allows the boat to cruise at 7 knots.
MINNIE THE MOOCHER
Chris Bell lives on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia, where he enjoys sailing in MINNIE THE MOOCHER, a 14′11″ canoe yawl. MINNIE is a Lillie design by Paul Fisher that is similar to his Ethel canoe yawl design and to boats that Lord Robert Baden-Powell built for the Boy Scouts.
Sinne 610
The Sinne 610 is an expedition rowing boat designed by Ruud Van Veelen and built by Walter Baron of Old Wharf Dory Co. This is the second boat built to these lines, and the first in North America. It is fully decked, with lots of covered storage.
