Cirrus Kayak
Jonathan Alvarez, a Rhode Island resident, built this 17′5″ Cirrus kayak over four-and-a-half years and launched her last Labor Day.
WIND
This rowing/sailing dinghy is based on George Cockshott’s 1913 design done for the British Boat Racing Association.
Cool Change
A four year project. Built stitch and glue using Meranti Marine Plywood. Powered by a Honda 90 Four Stroke.
CANOE
Dennis Hefling and his son built this 17'5" cedar-strip canoe from plans that Dennis drew up.
KNOCKABOUT
In July 2003, Rob Douwes launched his 17'6" Gentlemen's Runabout KNOCKABOUT on Lake Westeinder, Aalsmeer, in the Netherlands. The plans (#76 from WB), by Hacker and Zimmer, call for a 16' hull, but Rob extended the boat's length by spreading the frames apart just a little bit.
Endeavour 17'
Launched June 26th 2017. Bear Mountain Endeavour 17′ at the Parc Nautique de Cap-Rouge in Québec.Built during the winter. 350 hrs. Cedar, pine, ash and a little walnut strip.
Li'l Longship
I designed and built the cradle boat Li’l Longship for my soon-to-be-launched grandson. With her bold, sweeping hull lines and imposing figureheads I’ve tried to capture the spirit of the classic Viking Longship.
Honryousen
Boatbuilder Douglas Brooks led eighteen students at the University of Illinois in building a 21-foot Shinano River boat, a traditional design from Niigata, Japan.
EAGLE
Seven-year-old Jamie Lowrey had the idea of building this boat from a single sheet of spare plywood. He and his father made scale models from shirt cardboard and built a full-size model from cardboard boxes in the living room of their Manhattan apartment.
